Write or talk, then ask your past anything. The AI runs on your own computer, so your entries are never sent to a server.

It has read every entry you've written. Ask in plain words and get a plain answer, with the entries it came from. It works the same with Wi-Fi off.
You sign in on your own PC. There's no MindSage cloud to sign in to.
No analytics, no usage data, no ads. We don't know how often you write, and we don't want to.
Writing, voice typing, search and Ask all keep working with Wi-Fi off.
MindSage isn't using it.
Add a photo to any entry. On the same date next year, MindSage shows it to you again, with what you wrote that morning.
Press the mic and ramble. Speech becomes text on your PC, so your voice isn't uploaded either.
Search by what you meant. "That weekend in the hills" finds the right entry even if you never wrote those words.

The AI runs on your computer, not ours, so it needs a reasonably recent PC.
MindSage checks your PC before the download and picks the AI that fits it: 8 GB PCs get a lighter model. If your PC can't run it well, MindSage tells you, instead of quietly sending your writing to a server.
the free version stays free.
Yes, once the AI has downloaded. Writing, voice typing, search and Ask all run on your PC. You need a connection for the first download, for updates you choose to install, and to buy Pro.
Open models that run on your PC through llama.cpp: Llama 3.2 3B writes the answers (Qwen 2.5 1.5B on 8 GB PCs), nomic-embed-text powers search by meaning, and Whisper turns your voice into text.
Every model file is checked against its fingerprint after download, and a file that fails is never used.
No. The AI runs on your PC. Your entries are never sent to us, to OpenAI, or to any other AI service, and they are never used to train anyone's models.
No. There is no MindSage server that receives your writing, so there is nothing for us to read. The app has no analytics and sends no usage data.
Not yet. Today your journal is stored on your PC behind your MindSage sign-in. We're adding encryption of the journal itself during the beta, and we won't call it encrypted until it is. Until then, turning on Windows device encryption or BitLocker protects it if your laptop is lost.
That's the AI itself. Having the models on your PC is what lets MindSage answer without a server.
No. MindSage is a journal with an AI that answers questions about what you wrote. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything and isn't a replacement for professional care. If you're in crisis, call your local emergency number or find a free helpline at findahelpline.com.
